Guadeloupe has a tradition of producing high quality ingredients such as cocoa, vanilla, exotic spices, raw cane sugar, coffee and not least their famous rum. During this excursion, we will have the opportunity to become acquainted with "Rhum Agricole", a special kind of rum that is typical for the French Antilles. It's considered by connoisseurs to be one of the world's finest and most complex rums to exist.
During this excursion we will start our day with some mingle, sipping on a traditional cocktail from Guadeloupe while you get an introduction in the rhum culture. After we visit the Reimonenq Distillery located in the middle of the sugar cane fields outside Sainte-Rose. Here, You'll get to see the property, the old-fashioned pressing plants and a steam-operated distillers, a guided tour for Fort Royal guests only.
After the tour you'll have a look in the museum for a deeper insight of the rum culture, followed by a tasting of two different variants of rum. Before we head back to the hotel you can buy rum at factory prices, perfect as a souvenir or gift!
